It was late 1990’s and the chatter in the barbershop was the usual. That is until a farm near Botriver was mentioned and a possible sub-division of three pieces of land. Joko du Plessis, Leo Pistorius and Ewald Groenewald became the owners of that piece of land and today Leeurivier Wine and Olive is going forward. The farm produces a variety of red cultivars and olives as the mainstream product.
Situated a little inland next to the Swart Rivier, the cool afternoon sea breeze blows across the vineyards. The constant winds keeps the heat in check and helps to temper the climate along the valley. Be transported back in time, and experience wine made in the old traditional way.
